Our GardensThe Williamson County Community Gardens are open to
community members who wish to adopt a garden plot, choose the types of plants
they want to grow, and nurture the plants through the stages of growth. The gardens
provide the unique opportunity to combine physical activity, access to fresh fruits and
vegetables, social interaction, and neighborhood beautification.
Heritage Community Garden
Heritage Community Garden is located in Georgetown, Texas. It is a beautiful 18 acre facility with raised and in-ground gardens. It has a Memorial Fruit Tree Orchard featuring Peaches, Plums, Pears, Apricots and Apples. We have constructed theme gardens, a play area under large Pecan trees and a greenhouse. In the spring we have a riotous meadow full of bluebonnets and wildflowers. A natural creek flows along the north boundary line. Heritage Community Garden is a partnership between Georgetown Parks and Recreation and WCCHD.
Taylor Community Garden
Taylor Community Garden is located in Taylor Texas at 7th and Davis Street. It
is a very urban community garden built on an old abandoned tennis court and
features 30 raised garden plots. We provide tools, storage benches, a washing
station, and picnic tables. It is a very lovely garden and has a rather long
waiting list! Taylor Community Garden is a partnership between the City of
Taylor, Taylor Independent School District, Keep Taylor Beautiful and WCCHD.
