The Taylor Community Garden

Williamson County's newest community garden project, the Taylor Community Garden, creates hands on learning spaces to increase the consumption of fruits and vegetables in Taylor, Texas. The garden is located at the tennis courts of the Old Middle School, at the corner of Davis and 7th (see on map). This project is sponsored by the Williamson County and Cities Health District, Taylor ISD and the City of Taylor.

  • Help build raised garden beds and make your community healthy!
  • Adopt your own plot and discover a wonderful way to grow produce for your family!
  • Learn from our expert gardeners and enjoy games and snacks for the kids!

About the Garden Plots

There are a total of  20 garden plots at the Taylor Community Garden, located at the corner of Davis and 7th (see on map) at the tennis courts of the Old Middle School. These are raised garden plots built from cement cinder blocks. There is not a gardening fee at this time. The Taylor Community Garden is an organic garden and will only use organic fertilizers and pesticides.

There are a variety of garden plot sizes. Most are two block layers high, but a few are three layers high. Plots are available to accommodate those physically challenged.

We supply: Garden plot with soil; water with hose access; seeds; and guidance on what to plant throughout the year

You'll be expected to: Tend to the plot you adopted by watering, weeding, and harvesting; harvest the produce when ready and give 10% back to the community; take action to control bugs and other pests; attend gardener meetings; and follow the garden Guidelines and Rules.

How to Adopt a Garden Plot

All of our garden plots are adopted at this time. We appreciate your interest and do keep a waiting list. Email your name and contact information to place your name of the waiting list.
