Adopt a Garden Plot - Heritage Community Gardens

We are excited about your interest in adopting a garden plot! We are pleased to offer several gardening options to you.

Plot Options
Heritage Community Garden offers raised garden plots and in-ground gardens. There are 38 raised plots at Heritage. Our raised garden plots are built from cement cinder blocks. There are a variety of garden plot sizes. Most raised plots are two block layers high, but a few are three layers high. We are happy to assist you in selecting a garden plot.

For information on available plots and to adopt a garden plot please contact the Community Garden Coordinator by email or by phone at (512) 943-3671.

We will supply:

  • Garden plot with soil
  • Water with hose access
  • Tools such as rakes, shovels, wheel barrows, and hand gloves
  • Seeds
  • Guidance on what to plant throughout the year

You'll be expected to:

  • Pay the one-time deposit and annual plot fee. See details about fees below.
  • Tend to the plot you adopted by watering, weeding, and harvesting.
  • Harvest the produce when ready and give 10% back to the community.
  • Take action to control bugs and other pests.
  • Attend gardener meetings.
  • Agree to and follow the garden Guidelines and Rules.
Plot Fees
Plot fees for Heritage Community Garden include a deposit and annual fee. The deposit is a $20.00 one-time fee which is refundable when the plot is returned to us cleared out and in good condition. The annual plot fee is $20.00 and is per person, not per plot. If you are interested in adopting 2 or more plots, the annual fee is still $20.00.

To inquire about availability of plots, or if you want to adopt a plot, contact the Community Garden Coordinator by email or by phone at (512) 943-3671.
